Achang Museum

Achang museum is restoration of traditional houses in Dehong region of Yunnan. It is built according to the ethnic custom by local craftsmen. Construction work was started in 2002, and the branch museum officially opened in April 2003.
Achang museum houses have one living room in the middle with two rooms on both sides. A residence consists with barn, courtyard, walls and vegetable field. The plan is suitable for the living environment of countryside. Vegetation and crops were cultivated according to the local environment. The building covers an area of 1,300 square meters with a construction area of 344 square meters.
Indoor exhibits and outdoor arrangements of Achang Museum are live settings according to traditional production and lifestyle of Achang people. The items displayed in the museum are collected from Dehong region of Yunnan. They covered the time span from the Qing Dynasty (1616-1911) to modern times, about two hundred years.
